The previous PML-N government laid the groundwork for social welfare by introducing several financial assistance programs aimed at supporting low-income families and providing economic relief. Building on this foundation, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the Himmat Card Program in 2024, a major initiative designed to provide direct financial aid to deserving individuals and families. This program ensures economic security, social protection, and empowerment, particularly for persons with disabilities (PWDs), by offering quarterly stipends and access to government-announced services through an ATM-enabled card system.
